Kirsty has worked in Professional Sports assisting medical teams working with Premiership Footballers, Rugby Union players, Athletics, and Team GB Boxers. In addition to this she has also worked in fight camps with high profile Pro Boxers and MMA fighters.
Specialising in optimising physical performance and recovery with targeted sports massage, nutrition strategies, and bespoke Pilates sessions. This holistic method is designed to support individuals at all levels, improving function, preventing injury, and promoting long-term wellness.
Kirsty Wilson is a fully certified and accredited STOTT PILATES® teacher and has spent 25 years in in the movement and wellness industry. Kirsty takes a very unique yet pragmatic approach to working with each of her clients. She is an accomplished Pilates Teacher, Soft Tissue Specialist and Nutrition Consultant. Having a genuine passion for wellness and pain management enables her to focus on acquiring balance in all aspects of her clients’ lives. She likes to mix strength training and muscle activation with Pilates to achieve highly effective results.Having started her career as a Soft Tissue Therapist, she trained and certified with the prestigious North London School of Sports Massage (NLSSM). Continuing her bodywork training, Kirsty completed her comprehensive Pilates certification with STOTT PILATES®. To deepen her Pilates knowledge further she went on to study Classical Pilates with world renowned Mejo Wiggins and Alexandra Bohlinger, both 2nd generation Pilates teachers.She continues to learn from the best international bodywork and movement educators. Keeping her at the cutting edge of her field she recently travelled to the USA and certified 6 months later in Foundation Training with Dr Eric Goodman. Outside of treating people, Kirsty is a keen climber, whether at a climbing wall or on a blowy mountain. She is also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt, training out of Mauricio Gomes Southend.

Nestled deep in rural Rochford, Essex is my studio. Equipped with Classical Pilates Wunda Chair, Arm Chair and Reformer. The studio also has a Wattbike, weights bench and a full compliment of weights to enable me to challenge and curate the most effective sessions for you.

Contraindications

(to avoid massage entirely, or obtain written consent from GP or Consultant)
Fever: and contagious diseases, including any cold or flu symptoms.Skin conditions: like localised eczema, psoriasis, boils, or recent sunburn, and fungal.Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot in a deep vein, which could be dislodged by massage, causing a potentially fatal pulmonary embolism.Recent major surgery: (within 3-6 months) or severe, acute injuries.
Severe conditions: affecting the heart, lungs, kidneys, or liver.Any form of cancer, with treatment only possible after a doctor's approval.Open wounds, severe open skin conditions, or active herpes outbreaks.Aneurysm, a bulging in an artery wall that could rupture.Heart conditions, such as angina, arrhythmia, or after a heart attack or surgery, require a letter of permission from a general practitioner.Blood disorders, like hemophilia or if you are on anticoagulant medication (blood thinners), as this increases the risk of bruising.Osteoporosis: and other conditions that make bones fragile, as massage could cause a fracture.Pregnancy, though some forms of massage may be adapted with a doctor's clearance.Diabetic conditions, particularly if they are unstable or have complications like neuropathy.Varicose veins: that are inflamed or painful.Bruising or hematoma: at the site of treatment.Inflammation: due to an injury or infection that is localised.Under the influence of drugs or alcohol, including some prescription pain medications, which can impair judgment and pose a danger to the client and therapist.Unexplained fatigue or weight loss, and unexplained swelling or lumps should be investigated by a doctor before massage.
